Kenya Edwards Meeks:

Advocate, Caregiver, and Community Builder

Kenya Edwards Meeks is a proud mama from Katy, Texas. Her journey began 11 years ago when her son was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and, more recently, autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Through every step, Kenya has been her son’s fiercest advocate—fighting not just for access to care, but for joy, dignity, and opportunity. Her deep love for her son fuels her mission to uplift other families walking similar paths.

She believes that children with disabilities deserve the same opportunity to flourish as any other child—and that their lives hold equal value. Kenya has met and connected with hundreds of parents and professionals along the way, all of whom have helped shape her purpose: to bring encouragement, spread awareness, and build a community of support for families with special needs. When Kenya couldn’t find a bib that fit her growing son’s needs she decided to make one herself. What began as a simple act of love quickly grew into Mama Bear Bibs. What started as a personal solution became a mission to provide fun and functional bibs for children and adults with special needs.

In addition to running her business, Kenya is an volunteer at Lakewood Church’s Champions Ministry and Embrace Ministries. Her son has been involved in adaptive gymnastics, soccer  baseball and Ainsley's Angels (5K). Kenya and her husband are currently co-writing a book to help other special needs parents navigate their journey with faith and resilience. Holding Master’s degrees in both Communication and Management. Kenya is also a professor, facilitator and mentor. Kenya is dedicated to educating advocating, inspiring hope and helping special needs families live their best lives.

Mama Bear Bibs:

Mama Bear Bibs was created in 2017 by special needs mom Kenya Edwards Meeks, who couldn’t find bibs that were functional, affordable, and fun for her growing son. Designed for everyday use, each bib combines durability, comfort, and dignity, helping families care for loved ones with special needs while adding a touch of fun to daily routines.
