Keith Bourkney
Keith Bourkney is the Founder and Executive Director of employU, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities through meaningful employment. A native of Buffalo, New York, and a lifelong Bills fan, Keith is the son of a self-employed carpenter, where he first absorbed the entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for building something meaningful from the ground up.
After moving to Florida in 2001, Keith’s career in program development and marketing took a pivotal turn in 2009 through a chance encounter with a Vocational Rehabilitation office. That experience sparked a deep sense of purpose, leading him to found employU in 2012 with a mission to build a more inclusive workforce and help people with disabilities realize their potential.
Under Keith’s thoughtful and purpose-driven leadership, employU has expanded into a statewide provider of vocational services and employment pathways. Equally important to him is building a workplace where mission-driven individuals can thrive: a supportive, values-led culture for those passionate about making a difference.
Keith leads with honesty, care, and a long-term vision, always guided by the belief that employU is what he was meant to build -for the people it serves and those who serve alongside him.
