
DR. Rosario Trifiletti
Dr. Rosario Trifiletti MD PhD is currently the founder and director of the PANDAS/PANS Institute in Ramsey, NJ The Institute has evaluated and treated over 4,000 children with PANDAS/PANS since its founding in late 2009. Dr. Trifiletti received his B.S. in Chemistry from Seton Hall University in 1979. He received his MD and PhD (in Neuropharmacology) from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1986. His PhD advisor was Dr. Solomon H. Snyder. He subsequently did his internship in. Pediatrics and residency in Neurology/Child Neurology at Babies Hospital and the Neurological Institute of NY, which are parts of what is now known as New York-Presbyterian Hospital. He had a full-time faculty position, focusing on laboratory research from 1991-1994 at Columbia Med and 1994-2002 at Cornell Med. It was at a lecture he attended at Cornell in 1998 that he first heard the word “PANDAS” (the old name foor PANDAS/PANS) and has been focusing on that doggedly since. In 2002-2003, he was the chief of Child Neurology at St. Vincent’s Hospital, and from 2003-2006 the chief of Child Neurology at UMDNJ-Newark. He was a co-director of the UMDNJ-Newark autism clinic where he cared for many underprivileged children with autism. He is particularly interested in the relationship between autism and PANDAS/PANS He is the author of over 70 peer-reviewed papers and over 80 abstracts.
